June 2009

We completed the redevelopment of the Rockingham City Shopping Centre in planned stages.

Stage one, completed in March 2008, included an extensive internal mall renovation and addition of new tenancies.

Stage two included the demolition of an existing suspended car park and sections of the existing building to facilitate the construction of a new food court and a 70 per cent handover of new shops in the fashion mall. The food court comprises nine fast food outlets and the fashion mall has 30 national retailers.

The final stage saw us construct 17 additional tenancies within the fashion mall and seven additional new food restaurant outlets along the main street.
The nature of the works, together with the tight program, meant that 24 hour shifts had to be maintained for almost 14 months during 2008 and 2009 to meet the completion dates. Day shifts were programmed to overlap with night shifts to enable continuity of works.

Our ability to deliver on time enabled trading to commence on the scheduled opening date of 1 December 2008.

We won the Master Builders Excellence in Construction Award for Best Retail Building in 2010.
