On behalf of the Commonwealth Government, the Department of Defence engaged us as its Managing Contractor to plan, design and construct the HMAS Stirling Redevelopment Stage 3A project. HMAS Stirling is located on Garden Island, approximately 50km south of Perth and is Australia’s largest naval base.
The redevelopment consists of infrastructure upgrades, new buildings, refurbishments, expansions and repairs; all of which are designed to support the continued growth of the Royal Australian Navy’s capabilities.
The Planning Phase commenced in 2010 and culminated in the project being endorsed by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works (PWC) in late 2015.
After the Planning Phase was completed, we were appointed to deliver the project.
Key focus areas during the Delivery Phase were the management of the detailed design to ensure that the design documentation met the Department of Defence’s technical requirements and represented a solution that offered best value for money to the Australian taxpayer.
