Sustainable Building Practices

Government agencies, building owners and developers are increasingly demanding that their facilities are designed and constructed with materials and technologies that will help save energy, preserve the integrity of the surroundings, and assure a clean, healthy indoor environment.

Whilst it is generally Architects and Engineers who design these technologies into modern buildings, we understand and embrace the intent and significance of these technologies and the role they play in the buildings we construct.

We employ Green Star Associates and Green Star Accredited Professionals to assist designers to interface Green Star initiatives into the construction process and find suppliers, products and subcontractors that can meet the required Green Star standards.

Green Star accredited commercial buildings we have constructed include Westralia Plaza for the Insurance Commission of WA, Curtin Engineering Pavilion and the Harrisdale Shopping Centre for Stockland. The Harrisdale Shopping Centre, completed in June 2016, achieved a 4 Star Green Star Retail V1 Rating.

Wellington Central, a 12,000m² commercial office development situated in Perth’s CBD achieved a NABERS 5.5 energy rating and a NABERS 4.5 water rating.

In addition, in September 2015, we completed the construction of the Ronald McDonald House which is the first project in Australia to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
