The new Harrisdale Shopping Centre was officially opened on the 23rd June 2016 by John Schroder, Stockland Group Executive and CEO of Commercial Property; Cr Henry Zelones, OAM, JP, Member for Darling Range; Tony Simpson MLA and Vince Mulholland, Doric CEO.
The grand opening was attended by members of the project team, dignitaries and general public. Shoppers were treated to cooking demonstrations from Eamon Sullivan and children got to meet the Care Bears and Angry Birds.
The $32 million shopping centre owned by Stockland is located within the Newhaven residential development and boasts a much anticipated Aldi Supermarket, Woolworths Supermarket, Medical Centre, 30 specialty shops; and 550 car parking bays. The centre reached practical completion on the 16th June, one week ahead of schedule.
The centre is 4 Green Star rated and includes an electric vehicle charging station as well as bike racks for keen cyclists.
Vince Mulholland, Doric CEO, said that the feedback received from all Stakeholders and particularly the client Stockland was that the shopping centre is a great success.
