Doric Contractors achieved practical completion on Bold Park Aquatic Centre on Friday 27 November, with the stunning $12.25 million centre opening to the public for the first time last Saturday.
Closed just over a year ago for redevelopment, Town of Cambridge Mayor, Keri Shannon, said the new facility was worth the wait.
“Bold Park Aquatic has been a favourite swimming hole for Cambridge residents for many years and having seen first-hand the new centre I have no doubt it will remain as one of the Town’s most popular facilities for many years to come,” she said.
“I know many residents have been eagerly awaiting the opening and I can assure them the wait will be worth it.
“The new Bold Park Aquatic is an outstanding facility which I’m sure the community will love and the Town is rightfully very proud of.”
The centre includes a 50m 10-lane outdoor heated pool with ramp entry, a semi-enclosed 20m four-lane leisure pool with beach entry, accessible change rooms, an adventure playground, half-court basketball area, barbecues, shaded seating and a new café.
